BT Mobile Security Anti-Virus offers full protection
from the latest virus and malware threats.
It will automatically run in the background,
providing continuous protection without the
need for you to do anything.
To access the application, select the BT Mobile
Security icon
under the BT Anywhere menu of
the Home Screen. From here you can run scans and
check logs.
How to run scans
If you wish to undertake manual virus scans, there
are two options: Full Scans and Custom Scans. Click
on the Anti-Virus icon and select as follows:
Full Scan
This performs a scan of the entire phone -
including storage cards. At the end of the scan all
detections will be presented and you can choose
what action to take. Please be patient - a full scan
will take a few minutes to complete.
Custom Scan (Advanced)
This scan will present you with a tree-view of the
file system of the phone. Select a folder and press
the Scan button to begin a scan of that folder and
its subdirectories.
Logs
To access Logs select Menu then 1 Logs:
1. Scan Log: Lists all scan attempts
and virus detections from Full Scan
and Custom Scan actions.
2. Monitor Log: Lists all detections located by
the Monitor, including storage card scans.
3. Virus Log: Lists all of the known viruses
the application protects against.
Updating
If there is a new update you will receive a prompt
to download updated versions of the application
in the form of a CAB file. Accept and run these
downloads to protect against the very latest
threats. You are informed of the size of the file
to be downloaded so you can decide whether to
run it there and then or to postpone until a more
convenient time. To complete virus updates your
BT ToGo must download data. As a guide, it may
use around 500KB per update. The cost for this is
included

if you are connected to your BT Home
Hub or a BT FON or BT Openzone hotspot.
To perform a manual Update, select Update Now
from the main Anti-Virus screen shown opposite.
If you choose to do this, we recommend you are
connected to Wi-Fi at the time for the reasons
outlined above. For mobile network charges
