Demo 1: Data-to-Data

This demonstration uses consecutive data-to-data intervals measured 
from a formatted hard disk drive with the HP E1725C with HP E1741A 
software. Time intervals were captured and sorted on-the-fly into a 
histogram using “fast histogram” hardware. The histogram data has been 
saved to disk and will be recalled for this demonstration. The histogram, 
statistics, and window margin analysis features of the HP E1741A will be 
demonstrated.

The drive used to gather this data uses RLL (1,7) coding and has a 15.6 ns 
decode window (T). A random data pattern was written in every sector on 
the track.

Start

Select File>Use saved data.

Open the demo subdirectory and click on the file “d-to-d.tid.”

Click the OK button.

Select Control>TIA Setup [expanded].
