This is the firmware that controls the HP E1740A. This file can be
downloaded by the HP E1741A or TIA User Interface software into
the HP E1740A TIA. Normally, you will not need to use this file
because it is already loaded into the HP E1740A. Instances where
the file may be needed would be if the HP E1740A’s firmware
became corrupted somehow, or an updated version of the firmware
were supplied and needed to be downloaded to replace the current
firmware. The default is not selected.

Install this option if you might want to modify the standard
extrapolation method used for window margin analysis.
The standard method assumes the noise process (jitter) being
analyzed is Gaussian. The online help describes the procedure for
modifying the extrapolation function. The topic is Window Margin
User-Defined Extrapolation.
Sample Programs
These sample programs can serve as examples for some useful
tasks. One program moves measurement data from the HP E1740A
to the controller, bypassing the HP E1741A interface software.
Another provides a routine for moving data from the HP E1741A to
an Excel spreadsheet file.

Selection of this option will load the online help. You are strongly
encouraged to install the online help. It contains a great deal of
operating information, example tutorials, menu descriptions,
glossary of terms, etc., that will enhance your understanding of
how to use the TIA.
NOTE The help file contains information not available elsewhere. It is
recommended that you include the help file in your initial installation.
Demo Waveforms
These demo waveforms were acquired from actual disk drives and
can be recalled into the TIA. Additionally, the TIA setup used to
acquire the waveforms is recalled as well. This is a handy way to
demonstrate how the TIA would need to be set to acquire the data
