Chapter 4

Installing Mass Storage Devices

39

The SCSI Configuration Utility can be used to configure the boot order search to
skip over the onboard SCSI channels and select a different PCI slot, when
scanning for boot devices. Refer to Chapter 6, "Installing Additional Boards" and
Chapter 10, "Configuring the HP NetServer" for instructions.

 

The HP NetServer’s on-board SCSI channels consists of two SCSI-2 (LVD -
Low-Voltage Differential) channels A and B. Channel A controls the HP
NetServer’s internal hard disk drives. Channel B handles the NetServer’s external
SCSI port. The NetServer starts the scan at device ID 0, when scanning each SCSI
channel, and goes up to ID 15 before starting to scan the other channel.
