Connecting an optical Ethernet interface
Follow these steps to connect a 1000 Mbps optical Ethernet interface:
Step1
Remove the dust cover from the optical Ethernet transceiver receptacle.

Step2
Align an SFP transceiver with the optical SFP transceiver receptacle, with the side having a
release lever facing outward. Then insert it into the optical SFP transceiver receptacle.

Insert an SFP module
Step3
Identify the Rx and Tx ports on the SFP transceiver module. Plug the LC connector at one end
of one fiber cable into the Rx port of the router and the LC connector at the other end into the Tx
port of the peer device. Plug the LC connector at one end of another fiber cable into the Tx port
of the router and the LC connector at the other end to the Rx port of the peer device.
