First, check the job to see if it contains one of the following commands:
CreateHostVolume CreateHostVolumeDiscrete CreateHostVolumeGroup
If so, one of the following conditions may apply.
Host QLogic HBA driver LUN setting is exceeded
The default support for QLogic HBA drivers is 32 LUNs (virtual disks). If there are more than 32 LUNs
(which is typical with EVA storage systems) the create host volume style commands can execute for an
extended period of time because the LUN is not found on the host.
To resolve this problem:
1.
On the enabled host, open the
probe-luns
fi
le in a text editor. It is located at:
/opt/hp/hp_fibreutils/probe-luns
2.
In the
fi
le, modify the
LUNEND
variable to allow for the number of LUNs in your situation.
Save the
fi
le.
3.
If necessary, clean up resources that were involved in the failed job.
4.
Rerun the job.
Host QLogic HBA driver is frozen
If the QLogic HBA driver is frozen, none of the LUNs may be visible to the host.
To resolve this issue:
1.
On the enabled host, reload the QLogic HBA driver or reboot the host.
2.
If necessary, cleanup resources that were involved in the failed job.
3.
Rerun the job.
Job with volume group remount fails - Linux
Problem
A job creates a replica of a Linux volume group and mounts it on a host. In subsequent steps the job
unmounts the replica and then attempts to remount it on another host. During the remount step the job fails.
Explanation / resolution
You cannot remount the replica of a Linux volume group because the context of the volume group is
lost after the
fi
rst mount.
IMPORTANT:
The job template named
Replicate host volume(s), mount to a host, then to a different host,
contains steps to
mount and remount a replica. Do not use the template with Linux volume groups.
To resolve this issue:
1.
If necessary, cleanup resources that were involved in the failed job.
2.
Edit the job and remove the remount steps.
3.
Create another job to mount the replica on a different enabled host.
Troubleshooting - Windows
Explorer does not show a host volume after a job is run - Windows
Problem
A job is run that mounts, unmounts, and remounts a host volume (for example, drive F) on a Windows
enabled host.
