1. In the navigation pane, select Virtual Disks .
2. On the List tab, select the source virtual disk to delete.
3. Select Actions > Delete . A con fi rmation window appears.
4. Click OK to con fi rm the action.
Detaching mirrorclones
Detach a fractured mirrorclone from its source virtual disk. The detached mirrorclone becomes an
independent (original) virtual disk. See fractured mirrorclones .
Considerations
• You can use the GUI, or jobs to detach fractured mirrorclones. See
virtual disks actions cross reference .
• A mirrorclone must be fractured before it can be detached. See mirrorclone guidelines and
mirrorclone states .
Procedure
1. In the navigation pane, select Virtual Disks .
2. On the List tab, select the fractured mirrorclone virtual disk to detach. Alternately, you can
select the mirrorclone’s source virtual disk.
3. Select Actions > Detach Mirrorclone . The Detach Mirrorclone con fi rmation window opens.
4. Click OK . The window closes.
5. The Monitor Job window opens. An implicit job is begun to execute the action. See jobs
implicit job startup .
6. After the implicit job completes, refresh the content pane to display the most current resources.

Editing virtual disk properties
Edit (set) the properties of a virtual disk.
Considerations
• You can use the GUI or the CLUI. See virtual disks actions cross reference . The CLUI allows you to
edit several different properties. The GUI action allows you to edit only the virtual disk name.
• Guidelines apply. See virtual disk guidelines .
Procedure
This procedure uses the GUI.
1. In the navigation pane, select Virtual Disks .
2. On the List tab, select the virtual disk whose properties you want to edit.
3. Select Actions > Edit Properties . The Editing the Virtual Disk window opens.

Fracturing mirrorclones
Stop (fracture) the synchronized local replication from a source virtual disk to its mirrorclone. This
action converts a synchronized mirrorclone to a fractured mirrorclone. See fractured mirrorclones and
synchronized mirrorclones.
