Single grain metering unit
NOTE
Water entry and motor damage on the metering
unit
¾
Do not wash the metering units with high
pressure cleaners!
The different components in the metering unit
are described first.
Adjustment and checking of the metering unit
are then described in the chapters
Adjusting the
metering unit
and
Checking adjustments
.
Overview
The metering unit is the main part of each drill
unit.
The metering unit is electrically driven and indi-
vidually controlled by a computer in the adapter
housing.
All parts inside the metering unit are high preci-
sion parts. Treat these parts with greatest care
and avoid any force.
Do not oil, grease or spray these parts with cor-
rosion protection agents. The parts would stick
together and become porous.
NOTE
¾
When changing single parts do not use elec-
tric screwdrivers to turn in screws. Tighten
the screws only by hand.
To prevent stainless steel screws from sizing,
cover them with e.g. ceramic paste.

NOTE

The motor must not be removed from the
housing half.
¾
Do not damage the cables; in particular, do
not carry a dismantled metering unit on the
cable of the grain count sensor!
Maintenance / inspection
Check the metering unit every day for signs
of damage and clean with brushes and com-
pressed air. Do not use water.
When assembling disassembled metering units
you should always make sure that the housing
parts are easily fitted by hand and fastened with
the handle screws.
Tighten both handle screws only hand-tight!
