Adult Finger Sensor Usager

1) Hold the sensor with its opening towards the patient's index or
ring ﬁnger . The sensor should be oriented in such a way that
the sensor side with a ﬁngertip sign is positioned on the top.

  2)  Insert the patient's index or ring ﬁnger into the sensor until the
  ﬁngernail tip rests against the stop at the end of the sensor. Adjust
  the ﬁnger to be placed evenly on the middle base of the sensor.
  Direct the cable along the top of the patient's hand.

3) Inspect the sensor site every 2 hours for skin integrity and relocate
the sensor every 2 hours according to steps 1-2 .

Neonatal Y-Probe Wrap Sensor Usage

1) Attach the sensor to a well perfused ﬂeshy portion of the infant's
hand or foot.

2) Place the sensor to the patient with the light source (LED) on the

top of the hand or foot.

3) Secure the sensor with the Hopkins® Adjustable Y-Probe Sensor

Latex Free Belt and tighten gently. (Recommended) .

4) Apply a Hopkins® Y-Probe Wrap (#592012) on top to prevent

  ambient light interference. A secure wrap with the probe sensor
  centered in the middle of it will minimize any effects from
  ambient light sources. Other wraps can be used to secure lead
  wires to minimize the movement of the sensor itself.
