BACK FLUSH AND FORWARD FLUSH
The Back Flush cycle is automatically engaged and controlled by your Control Valve (1) and
solenoid valve(s). Your system was pre-programmed at the factory. If you have the optional
Forward Flush Kit (UP-FF), the Forward Flush cycle is also automatically engaged and controlled by
your system.
If you do not have the Forward Flush Kit, it is important that you open the manual shut-off valve
on the forward flush tube for a few minutes once per week. This will perform a manual forward
flush.
If you experience reduced service flow rate and pressure loss due to clogging, it is
recommended that you increase the frequency and/or duration of your Forward Flush. Discuss
with your dealer as changes to the Back Flush cycle might also be recommended.
If you do not have the Forward Flush Kit:
Step 1: “Backwash” = Back Flush: factory pre-set for 5 minutes at 2 GPM
Step 2: “Rinse” : factory pre-set for 1 minute at 2 GPM
If you do have the Forward Flush Kit:
Step 1: “Backwash” = Back Flush: factory pre-set for 5 minutes at 2 GPM
Step 2: “Rinse” = Forward Flush: factory pre-set for 1 minute at service flow rate
Unless directed by a water treatment professional familiar with this system, we do not generally
recommend that you alter of any of the system programming.
During each step of flush cycle, the digital display on the control valve will indicate the cycle
currently underway and the amount of time remaining in that cycle.
SETTING THE TIME OF DAY
The current day of the week and time is displayed in the top left corner of the home screen. It is
important that the day and time be accurate so that the flush cycle(s) will occur at the correct time
of the day and so that the diagnostic and data gathering functions of the control valve will be
accurate.
If the day and time are flashing, it means that there has been a power failure and the day and time
need to be checked.
To change the time of day, touch the day and time display in the top left corner of the home
screen and the following screen will appear:
