OBJECTS DETECTION
You can use the detector to find objects below the detection area of the detector.
Metal objects detection
When scanning for metal objects, press the metal detection button 4. The metal detection indicator symbol will then appear on
the display in zone C.
Place the detector on the surface to be scanned and move it left (or right) in the same direction. When the detector approaches
a metal object, the signal strength indication in zone „J” will increase. The distance from the metal object will decrease the
signal strength. Maximum signal strength in zone J means that the metal object is directly below the center of the sensor and
the screen will show a „K” pictogram and the instrument will make a continuous sound.
When metal objects are detected, the display shows „D” (detection depth value). The accuracy of the depth value is related to the
shape and material of the measured object, its position in relation to the detector, properties of surrounding materials. The best
depth measurement results are obtained when measuring rebar with a diameter of 18 mm. The depth value is only a general
reference.
Note: When the instrument cannot distinguish between the magnetic and non-magnetic metal being measured, it cannot display
depth.
Detection of wooden profiles
Press button 2 and the device will go into exact wood detection mode. During this time, the wood detection symbol appears in
zone „C” and the exact detection symbol in zone „B”. A short press of button 2 will start the calibration and a long press will
switch to deep mode.
Calibration of wood detection:
When the device is set to other material detection mode, the device must be placed against the wall and then press the wood
detection button. During this time the wood icon will flash, keep the device stationary until the wood icon stops flashing. This
means that the calibration of the device is complete. Then you can move on to the wood profile detection operation.
Place the detector on the surface to be detected and move it left (or right) in the same direction. When the device is close to the
edge of the object to be measured (wooden profile), a signal will be displayed on the display screen. Keep moving the device in
the same direction. When the wooden profile is in the middle of the device, the buzzer will sound continuously, the middle icon on
the screen will light up and the signal strength will be 100%. Continuing to move the instrument in the same direction will cause
the buzzer sound to stop, the middle icon to go out and the signal on the screen to gradually fade.
Scanning for live cables
Press button 4 to proceed to scanning for live cables. During this time, the display shows a pattern of „live cables” in field „C”.
If there are no live wires around the detector, but a signal is displayed on the display screen in zone „J”, it means that the me-
asuring tool should be calibrated.
Calibration method: in the current position, hold down button 4 until the signal in field „J” on the LCD display resets and the
green light comes on, then the calibration is completed. Then release the button and you can start to detect live cables.
The device detects AC power cables 40 ~ 60 Hz (HZ),
• In some cases (e.g.: when the cable is hidden under a metal surface, concrete or other objects that shield the AC), the device
may not be able to find a hidden live cable. The detection signal of a live cable is affected by its position, so repeat the detection
near the original detection point or use other sources of information to confirm that there is a live electrical cable at that point.
• Stable electricity can cause interference and inaccurate detection results. To improve detection results, place your free hand
on the wall next to the detector. This can cause an electrostatic discharge.
MOISTURE MEASUREMENT
Press button 3 to start the wood moisture measuring function and the icon „f” will appear on the display. At this point, a long
press of button 3 will switch to moisture measurement of building materials and a short press of button 3 will keep the measured
value on the display. Open the detector cover, remove the covers from the probes. Then, holding the probe, push the probes into
the target. The test results will be shown in zone „d” on the display, and pressing button 3 will keep the result on the display and
the „g” icon will appear and the test will end.
NOTES ON OPERATING MODE
Special attention should be paid that the measurement value may deteriorate under certain environmental conditions, such
as: proximity to other devices that generate strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields, moisture, metal building materials,
laminated films, insulating materials or conductive wallpaper. Therefore, other sources of information (e.g. construction plans,
diagrams) must also be observed before drilling, sawing or milling in walls, ceilings or floors.
MAINTENANCE, SERVICE, CLEANING
Use a dry, soft cloth to remove dirt from the instrument. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents.
Do not place any labels or nameplates in the detection area in front or behind the detector. Do not stick the metal nameplate.
Use the enclosed protective box to store and carry the detector.
