1. To attach the darning plate, line it up with the holes in the needle plate,
then push down to snap it in place. Make sure that the hole in the darning
plate is aligned with the opening for the needle in the needle plate.
2. Slowly rotate the adjustment dial of the thread tension (1) towards yourself
to make sure that the needle moves freely through the hole in the darning
plate.
3. Remove the darning plate to return to normal sewing.
SEWING ON A BUTTON
1. Set the machine for stitch 6 or 7, depending on the span between the
buttonholes. Position the fabric with the button under the presser foot (5).
2. Lower the presser foot (5).
3. Rotate the dial of the thread tension adjustment (1) to make sure that the
needle moves freely through the left and right hole.
Caution!
Determining the right zig-zag stitch for a given button may require a
few trials.
1. To change the stitch, raise the needle using the dial (1), select a new stitch
with the dial (10), lower the presser foot (5) and rotate the dial (1) to make
sure if the needle moves freely through the left and right hole.
