MAINTENANCE
Plate heat exchangers
: Check inlet and outlet temperature, verify water flow, and verify safety systems.
It is necessary, at least once a year, to clean the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is cleaned by circulating the
cleaning liquid. Use an acid store (5% phosphorous acid and if necessary more frequent cleaning use 5% oxalic
acid, maximum 8% in weight: 80g/l). Introduce the cleaning fluid through the exchanger. To achieve an effective
cleaning, the acid must be circulated at least 1.5 times the normal flow rate of water, and if possible in the opposite
direction. After this, the circuit should be cleaned with plenty of water to remove traces of acid. Refill with new water
and start up the unit.

Compressor:
Check regularly the lubricant level, the presence of vibrations or noise and the motor insulation.
REMEMBER to let the crankcase heater operate during 24 hours prior to the compressor start-up.
COMPRESSOR LUBRICANT
R-407C refrigerant compressors use synthetic polyester oil. Each compressor manufacturer has a specific oil for
their products.
The compressor or system should not remain open to atmosphere for more than 15 minutes.
The synthetic polyol ester oil absorbs 100% more humidity than the mineral oil.
EC MOTOR FANS
Rotation caused by an air flow in false direction
When the fan is stopped (no signal, no electrical supply, etc.), the control of the motor does not interfere if the fan rotates
in wrong direction (due to, for example, an air flow).
If you switch on the fan while it is rotating in the opposite direction, firstly the control will reduce the rotations in a controlled
way until it reaches the ‘0’ value (fan stoppage). Then, the control will make a restart in the correct rotation direction.
The higher the number of turns in the opposite direction, the longer the control will need to reach the fan.
In the event that the fan rotates strongly in the opposite direction, it is possible that the control could not start the fan in
the proper rotation direction.
Information
Do not switch off line voltage that the fan can start again!
Safe starting of fans is not guaranteed if it is started in reverse. If the application demands safe
starting, the machine manufacturer or owner must prevent reverse driving rotation by suitable
measures.
