Fig. 5 • Connecting the internal wires to the battery terminal

Perform reassembly by reversing the disassembly procedure, but note the following.

1. Reassembly of the power supply unit and its vicinity

NOTE: Perform wiring correctly according to Figs. 6 and 9 being careful of the internal wiring and

the connecting directions.

(1) Connect each internal wire to the Battery Terminal

[12]

securely until the faston terminal clicks into place.

• Insert the red internal wire into the "+" terminal of the Battery Terminal

[12]

• Insert the blue internal wire into the "D" terminal of the Battery Terminal

[12]

• Insert the black internal wire into the "-" terminal of the Battery Terminal

 [12]

• Insert the green internal wire into the "LD" terminal of the Battery Terminal

[12]

• After inserting the internal wires, check that the internal wires are securely connected by pulling the

internal wires lightly.

(2) Perform the following steps (a) and (b) being careful of the colors of the internal wires and the terminals

when soldering the internal wires to the motor and the DC-Speed Control Switch

[10]

. (See Fig. 6.)

(a) Solder one end of the internal wire (red) to the “+” terminal (red marking side) of the motor and

connect the other end to “M1” terminal of the DC-Speed Control Switch

[10]

(b) Solder one end of the internal wire (black) to the “-” terminal (opposite side of the red marking side)

of the motor and connect the other end to “M2” terminal of the DC-Speed Control Switch

[10]

(3) Push the internal wires of the DC-Speed Control Switch

[10]

into the ribs and grooves of housing (A) to

prevent the internal wires from being caught between housings (A) and (B). (See Figs. 7 and 8.)

(4) Fit the protrusion of the direction selector lever on the top of the DC-Speed Control Switch

[10]

 into the

hole on Pushing Button (A)

[7]

and mount it to housing (A).

NOTE: If the contacts of the Battery Terminal [12] with the battery are covered with black oxide

or not plated, the contacts may heat up, possibly resulting in breakdown of the battery or
the tool main body. In such a case, replace the Battery Terminal [12] with new one.

Reassembly

Internal wire (red)

Internal wire (blue)

(“+” terminal)

(“D” terminal)

Internal wire (green)

(“LD” terminal)
