Removing the battery pack: type 1 chassis

Remove the NVRAM battery backup pack (type 1, no bracket).

Procedure

Make sure you have the new battery pack present.

Remove the fascia (see

Bezel removal on page 50

for more information).

Gently slide the old battery pack out of the server.

Disconnect the battery:
a. Carefully push in on the retention clip.
b. Carefully pull the connector away from the socket.
