Connecting DVR to the Network 

It is strongly recommended not to connect the DVR on Public network.  To avoid 
virus and many other malicious attacks to the DVR, it should be connected to a 
safe internal network. 
The DVR has to be assigned an internal static IP address in order to connect the 
DVR from a Remote site.  If the DVR has dynamic IP address, the IP address will 
change frequently.  Since router needs to forward specific packets to an internal 
IP address of the Hisco’s DVR system with specific port range, the internal IP 
address of the DVR should be same all the time.
