Wear an electrostatic discharge (ESD) strap around your bare wrist and connect
the strap to an ESD point on the chassis. See

Remove the power cable from the power module.
4.
Pull the power module straight out of the chassis by pressing the lever and hold
the handle.
5.
Put the removed power module into an antistatic bag or on a flat antistatic table.

Install a replacement power module (see
Note: If you do not want to install a new module, apply a blank plate over the slot to
avoid dust falling into the chassis.
Replacing a DC Power Module
To replace a DC power module, take the following steps:
1.
Switch off the power source and remove the DC power cable from the power
source.
2.
Wear an electrostatic discharge (ESD) strap around your bare wrist and connect
the strap to an ESD point on the chassis. See

Loose the screws of the DC power cable using a Phillips screwdriver and remove
the cable.
4.
Pull the power module straight out of the chassis by pressing the lever and hold
the handle.
5.
Put the removed power module into an antistatic bag or on a flat antistatic table.

Replacing an Expansion Module
All expansion modules of SG-6000-X7180 are hot-swappable.
Replacing an SCM
To replace an SCM, take the following steps:
1.
Wear an electrostatic discharge (ESD) strap around your bare wrist and connect
the strap to an ESD point on the chassis. See
2.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen SCM screws until they pop out.
3.
Hold the screws and pull the SCM straight out of the chassis, as shown in Figure
5-1.
