The Auxiliary (AUX) port is used to configure the slave SCM. Connecting the AUX port
is similar to connecting the Console port.
Connecting the Ethernet/Optical Cable
IOM supports SFP ports and XFP ports. SFP port can accommodate SFP optical module
or copper SFP transceiver; when you use optical SFP module, you can use single-
mode or multi-mode optical cable to connect. The XFP port is also compatible with
single-mode or multi-mode cable.
All SFP and XFP optical modules use LC-type optical connector; therefore, you should
connect the optical modules using optical fiber ended with LC-type connector. All
optical transceivers are hot-swappable.
Connecting the Ethernet Copper Cable
Follow the guidelines below when connecting cables to the ports:

Be careful not to connect the Ethernet port to the wrong ports. Read the label
above the port carefully.

For electrical Ethernet connection, use crossover cable or straight-through cable.
