•
Gently mix sample until water turns a consistent color
and compare resultant hue to the reference color chart.
This should help you determine the pH closely enough
to determine the best setting to use. Repeat on the
higher settings to determine a pH value for each. You
may also wish to test the acid discharge pH.
Follow
the advise of your medical professional regarding
the optimum pH to use.
Refer to chart below for
typical pH usage:
6. Neutral Setting – This setting is to be used
when no ionization is desired. The resulting
dispensed water will be filtered, but not ionized.
The pH will be about the same as tap water.
There are not many situations when the “Neutral
Setting” will be used, except for those that
require a pH unchanged from tapwater, as
might be required with certain medications.
7. Acid Setting – The acid setting allows the user
to obtain acidic water from the dispensing flex-
hose. While in the “acid-mode” the polarity of
the Gio-Bella ionization chamber is reversed,
resulting in the reversal of pH from alkaline to acid. This is the
same thing that happens during the automatic cleaning cycle.
