OMNIKEY 5121 Ethernet Encoder – Session Termination
Once a session has been established with an OMNIKEY 5121 Ethernet Encoder device that session
will be maintained indefinitely by the OMNIKEY 5121 Ethernet Driver unless an interruption of the
Ethernet connection occurs, the host or printer device is powered down, or a system error occurs.
When the encoder session is no longer required the associated system resources may be released
by terminating the encoder session.
To terminate an encoder session, select the desired encoder from the
Select Encoder
drop-down
list and click
Disconnect
. Please be patient as it may take a few seconds for the encoder session to
terminate.
After the encoder session has been terminated control will return to the main window of the
OMNIKEY 5121 Ethernet Encoder Utility and the Reader Status display will be updated, typically
changing from
Connected
to
Disconnected
as in the example below.
