4.0 Servicing and maintenance
WARNING
Before any maintenance or inspection work or before opening the terminal compartment, the device is to be
fully isolated from the power supply and secured against unintended restart!
– Excessive deposit of dirt, dust, grease and other materials on the impeller, motor and safety grille especially between
casing and impeller is to be avoided and has to be prevented by periodical cleaning.
– A functional test must be carried out max. six-monthly intervals, and upon recommissioning in case of longer periods
of standstill.
– Maintenance must be carried out once annually, otherwise upon recommissioning.
– Servicing and maintenance work must only be carried out by specialists according to section 1.6.
– Perform maintenance based on maintenance plan in section 7.
– Please check:
• Screw connections, particularly impeller fastening.
Without loosening screws!
• Casing-/ impeller surface coating (e.g. rust, paint damage)
• Bearing noises
• Damages
• Vibrations
• Deposits of dirt
• Current consumption
• Function of the safety components
• Motor lubrication/motor bearing
The smoke extraction fans with motor size 160 to 250 have lubrication nipples and must be lubricated according
to the information on the motor type plate.
Types F300/400: Ensure relubrication option on-site, the motor type plate must be observed!
Types F600: Relubrication device outside the casing
Motors with relubrication devices must be lubricated according to the details on the motor type plate!
Only specified lubricants are permitted!
– It is recommended to perform a system maintenance book and enter the tests and test results carried out. Compare
the results with the results of previous audits. If the parameters vary, you should always contact the manufacturer.

The instructions in the maintenance manual of the electric motor manufacturer must be observed!

The smoke extraction fan must be disposed of after smoke extraction operation!
Continued use is not permitted in any case!
4.1 Cleaning
WARNING
An insulation fault can give you an electric shock!
The fan must be fully isolated from the power supply and secured against restarting before cleaning!
– Clean fan flow area, impeller, struts and motor (except for F600).
– Regular inspection, with periodic cleaning if necessary is required to avoid imbalance due to contamination. Clean fan
flow area.
– Do not use aggressive cleaning agents!
– High pressure cleaners or water jets are not permitted!
4.2 Repair work
Repair work on the smoke extraction fans must only take place at the factory by returning the unit!
