handle variants
The handle module (outer sleeve and handle head) is the same for all HEINE BETA
®
handles (with the
exception of the large battery handle). The handle type is determined by the bottom insert and the battery
type. Deployment of a different HEINE BETA
®
handle is easily achieved by exchanging the bottom insert
and/or battery type. An overview of the possible variants is shown on page 3.
Hygienic Reprocessing
Instructions on hygienic reprocessing must be adhered to, based on national standards, laws and guidelines.
Classification according to KRINKO: noncritical
Spaulding Classification USA: noncritical
Allow the device to cool down before reprocessing.
Before cleaning, disconnect the device from the power source.

: Remove this prior to processing the rechargeable battery.
In the event of suspected contamination, carry out hygienic preparation of the instrument.
The described cleaning and disinfection measures do not replace the specific rules applicable for the
establishment.
HEINE Optotechnik only approves the cleansing agents and procedures named in these instructions
for use.
Cleaning and disinfection may only be carried out by personnel with sufficient hygienic knowledge.
Observe the instructions of the manufacturer of the reprocessing media.
Do not use spray or immersion disinfection, dripping wet or heavily foaming tissues, automated
or ultrasonic reprocessing.
Ensure that the instrument is completely dry after reprocessing before you use it again.
Procedure
Clean and disinfect the HEINE handles manually (wipe clean and wipe disinfect).

Maintenance and Service
The instruments do not require maintenance or service.
General Warnings
Use only CE marked USB power supplies (5 V) from reputable manufacturers that conform with the
safety requirements from the IEC 60950-1 Information technology or IEC 60601-1 Medical electrical
equipment.
Check the correct operation of the device before use! Do not use the device if there are visible signs
of damage.
Do not use the device in fire- or explosive risk area (e.g. oxygen saturated or anaesthetic environments)
This product is not allowed to be entered or used in strong magnetic fields like MRI scanners.
Do not modify the device.
Use only original HEINE parts, spare parts, accessories and power sources.
Repairs shall only be carried out by qualified persons.
Turn the handle off during the charging process.
The handle is not designed for continuous use. The operating time of the handle depends on the
maximum operating time of the examination head.
