STEP 1.
Place the back piece of refractory in back of the fi rebox.
The small indentation on one side goes down. Lean the
refractory slightly so it doesn’t tip over.

A. Remove Shipping Materials
Remove shipping materials from inside or underneath the
fi rebox.
B. Remove/Install Lights
The lights are shipped in boxes in the light boxes. Reach
behind the valve and locate the light boxes. Cut the rubber
band and slide out the front of the light box. Remove the
light bulb from the box and install it in the socket. Replace
the front of the box.
C. Clean the Appliance
Clean/vacuum any sawdust that may have accumulated
inside the fi rebox or underneath in the control cavity.
Note:
There are two rubber bands holding the light trays
in place for shipping. Cut and remove the rubber bands
at this time.
D. Accessories
Install approved accessories per instructions included with
accessories. See Service Parts List for appropriate acces-
sories. Refer to
Section 16.

E. Install the Refractory
STEP 2.
Place the left side refractory onto the left side of the burner.
Push the back refractory against the back wall. Place the
bumps on the bottom of the left refractory into the grooves
on the burner surface. Push to top gently against the side of
the fi replace. Once in place push it back so the bevel cuts
sit against each other and the seam is minimized.

STEP 3.
Repeat step 2 for the right side.

Note:
The red refractory will naturally darken when the
fi rebox heats up. The red color will return when the fi rebox
cools.
