Precautions on Cybersecurity
It is of critical importance that the responsible institution, i.e. the healthcare delivery organization,
implement and maintain robust cybersecurity policies for the host computer platform upon which the
BPro
®
BT device and BProSOft
®
BT software is deployed.
This includes, at a minimum, the
following measures to protect the security and integrity of the host platform and the patient
measurement data acquired from the BPro
®
BT device:
Only authorized personnel should have access privileges to the host PC with BProSOft
®
software.
The institution’s system administrator is responsible for access privileges per local institutional
guidelines.
The system administrator should implement log-in privileges including a time-out to minimize
unauthorized user access.
The Host system should be equipped with current active anti-virus software.
Institutional network access for the Host system should utilize a password protected network.
Network or other backup of the host system and its contents is the responsibility of the institution
– policies for backup frequency should be implemented.
The clinical user is advised to preserve patient anonymity for patient privacy – entry of patient
name and/or other identifying characteristics into BProSOft
®
BT software should be in accordance
with local institutional health information privacy policies.
