10 Care and Maintenance
In this chapter you learn more about maintenance and care the stud welding machine
to extend its life expectancy to the longest possible period.
10.1 Safety Instructions
Let maintenance and repair work on electrically life parts only
be carried out by specialists or your responsible service
technician.
Always switch off the stud welding machine and pull off the
mains plug before you start maintenance and repair work.
Never wear a wrist watch or electrically conductive jewellery.
Based on this maintenance recommendation and maintenance
recommendations of individual components, an internal mainte-
nance instruction must be created by the user!
10.2 Maintenance Recommendations
If not stated otherwise in the operating manuals of individual components, the following
maintenance recommendations apply:
General: Clean the working area of the machine at least once per
shift. Depending on work procedure, a shorter interval
may apply.
The working area should be cleaned with a vacuum
cleaner or clothes.
You must not use compressed air.
Pneumatic system: The filters of the maintenance unit positionned after the
main connection must be checked for their filling levels
1 x per week, empty if necessary.
Linear guidances: All linear guidances are protected against direct pollution
by plastic wipers or steel sheet covers. As a 100 %
tightening of the guidances is impossible, the machine
must not be cleaned with compressed air, as raised dirt
particles would be distributed and deposited at locations
which may negatively affect the life time expectancy of
the linear guidance systems.
Ball screw drive: Maintenance interval is equivalent with the one for linear
guidances. Ball screw drive and linear guidances are
maintained by mounted lubricating nipples.
