DADO CUTTING (FIG. 43-44)
• Unplug the power cord before removing and/or installing dado blades.
• When making dado cuts, a dado insert plate must be installed in place of the
regular table insert.
• Follow instructions provided with the dado set. (Purchased separately)
• The arbor (1) of this saw restricts the maximum width of a dado cut to 1/2”
(1.3 cm). The flange (2) must be installed prior to reinstalling and tightening the
arbor nut (3).
NOTE:
Verify that the arbor nut is tight and that at least one thread of the arbor
sticks out past the nut.
• After pulling the release lever up, grasp the riving knife and push it towards the
right to unlock it from the pin then pull it down until it is in the fully down position.
The purpose is not intended to cut through the workpiece. The riving knife is on
middle position, the purpose is for non-through operations. Use only a stackable
dado set, and keep the width to 1/2” (1.3 cm) or less. It will be necessary
to remove the blade guard and kickback pawl when using the dado.
CAUTION!
Use caution when the dado blade is running. You have no guard to
protect you. Also, adjustable or wobbling dado blades CANNOT be used on this
machine.
• Use the correct number of round outside blades and chippers, as shown in the
instruction manual for the dado set. The total width of the blades and chippers
must be as follows: less than 1/2” (1.25 cm) and less than 8” (20.32 cm) in diameter.
• Before starting the table saw, check to make sure the installed dado assembly
will not strike the motor, table, or table saw base when in operation.
CAUTION!
In order to avoid injury, always replace the blade, the blade guard
assembly, and the table insert when you are finished with the dado operation.
