ADJUSTING THE MITRE GAUGE (FIG.29)
• Loosen the lock handle (1) in order to allow the mitre body (2) to rotate freely.
Position the mitre body at 90
o
, so that the positive detent secures its position.
Tighten the lock handle in order to hold the mitre body in position.
• If the pointer (3) requires adjustment, loosen the two screws under the pointer
using a hex wrench. Adjust the pointer to 90
o
on the scale, and then firmly
tighten both adjusting screws.
• To change angles on the mitre gauge, loosen the lock handle (1) and rotate the
mitre body to the desire angle, as indicated by the scale. Secure in position by
tightening the lock handle.

POSITIVE STOPS (FIG. 30-31)
This saw has positive stops that will quickly position the saw blade at 90
o
to the
table. Make adjustments only if necessary.

STOP (FIG. 30)
• Raise the blade to the maximum height by turning the control handle counter
-clockwise.
• Loosen the bevel angle locking knob.
• Tilt the blade to the 90
o
(0
o
) bevel.
• Using a square (1), verify that the blade is at a 90
o
(0
o
) angle to the table top.
• If blade is not at a 90
o
(0
o
) angle to the table, loosen the adjustment screw (2).
• Loosen the bevel locking knob and square the blade 90
o
(0
o
) to the table.
• Once the blade is at a 90
o
(0
o
) angle to the table top, tighten the bevel angle
locking knob.
• Carefully tighten the adjusting screw (2) until it touches the bevel stop.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
• Verify that the blade is still aligned at 90
o
(0
o
).

• Raise the blade to the maximum height by turning the control handle
counter-clockwise.
• Loosen the bevel angle locking knob.
• Tilt the blade to the 45

bevel.
• Using a square (1), verify that the blade is at a 45

angle to the table top.
• If blade is not at a 45

angle to the table, loosen the adjustment screw (2).
• Loosen the bevel locking knob and set the blade at a 45
o
angle to the table.
• Once the blade is at a 45
o
angle to the table top, tighten the bevel angle locking
knob.
• Carefully tighten the adjusting screw (2) until it touches the bevel stop.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
• Verify that the blade is still aligned at 45
o
.
BLADE TILT POINTER (FIG. 32)
• When the blade is positioned at 90
o
, adjust the blade tilt pointer read 0
o
on the
scale.
• Loosen the holding screw, position the pointer over the 0
o
, and tighten the screw.
NOTE:
Make a trial cut on a scrap piece of wood before making critical cuts.
Measure for exactness.
CAUTION:
TO PREVENT PERSONAL INJURY:
a. ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE PLUG FROM THE POWER SOURCE WHEN
MAKING ANY ADJUSTMENTS.
b. THIS ADJUSTMENT MUST BE CORRECT, OR KICKBACK COULD RESULT
IN A SERIOUS INJURY AND INABILITY TO MAKE ACCURATE CUTS.
