ASSEMBLY
1. To connect your electric line trimmer, use the extension cord strain relief
feature (C, fig. 1 & fig. 7), which will prevent the tool being inadvertently
unplugged from the extension cord.
2. To use it, grasp the extension cord so that it forms a loop in the last 20 in
(50 cm) of the socket end. Push the loop up through the slot in the back
end of the handle guard (fig. 8).
3. Catch the upper end of the loop over the hook adjacent to the slot in the
handle and pull the cord down so it is tight (fig. 9).
4. Connect the shielded plug to the extension cord socket. Ideally, the plug’s
shield should hang so that its open end faces downward, that is, oriented
so that water cannot get into it (fig. 10).
Before Starting
Make a last check that the tool is in good working order and that the length
of the trimmer line is correct, as follows:
Warning!
Ensure the switch is in the off position and the plug is disconnected
from the mains supply.
1. Examine the general condition of the tool. Inspect the guard, switch, cordset,
and extension cord. Check for loose screws misalignment and binding of
moving parts, improper mounting, broken parts and any other condition that
may affect its safe operation. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs during
operation, turn the line trimmer off immediately and have the problem corrected.
Do not use a damaged tool and attach a label: “Do not use,” to the tool.
