10. Lighting the Fire
It is important to pass through the
lighting phase quickly since during
the lighting or fi ring phase, higher
emission values may occur if mi-
stakes are made. Therefore, for the
sake of the environment, please ob-
serve the following closely. The sto-
ve should always be lit with wood.
Due to the large fi re chamber win-
dow of the Granada / Kyoto, it is
particularly important to start the
fi re properly. Therefore, please en-
sure that you pay close attention to
the instructions and information on
the right side. Use only thoroughly
dried wood, at best stored near the
stove for several days (comply with
safety distances). Softwood chips
are particularly well-suited for kind-
ling the fi re (e.g. spruce).
11. Adding Fuel (Wood)
More fuel (wood) should be ad-
ded to the fi re during the burning
off phase, when the fl ames from
the previous burning off phase
have just gone out.

(I), set secondary air slider
(II) to position 3-4.
Close fi re grate.
Pull out fi re grate slider.
Add two logs weighing
approx. 1.4 kg in total.
Place logs with one end to
the front of fi re box. Only
add a single layer of fuel.
Open fi re box door
Close fi re box door
Wood should be added
when the fl ames of the
prior fi re are about to die

Slightly open ash drawer
Pile up any remaining ash
and unburned Charcoal
into the centre of the
combustion chamber.
Place 2-3 small logs into
the middle of the fi re box;
stack approx. 0.5 kg of
dry wood chips on top.
Light the ignition material
at several places.
Open fi re box door
Close fi re box door
Once the wood is lit
suffi ciently on all sides
close the ash drawer, and
some 10-15 minutes later
the primary air slide (I
