Vacation mode
WARNING
Health hazard!
Stored food can spoil from insufficient
cooling. This could lead to a risk of food
poisoning when consumed.
■
Note that the shelf life of stored food
may be shortened due to a rise in the
temperature inside the appliance.
■
Remove stored food from the appli-
ance – even when only switching off
the appliance temporarily – and store
it in a sufficiently cool place or in an-
other refrigerating appliance.
■
Consume thawed and defrosted
foods immediately; do not refreeze.
You can switch off the fridge (e.g. while on va-
cation) without interrupting the power supply.
The freezer will stay cold.

Switching on
• Press the MODE selection button (32)
enough times until the (31) symbol and
OFF signal disappear from the display.
The temperature signals show

Switching off
You can turn off “Vacation mode” in various
ways.
• Press the (32) MODE selection button
enough times until the (31) symbol dis-
appears from the display.
“Vacation mode” is switched off.
• Press the (21) REF.TEMP. button once.
The (20) temperature signal will flash.
If you press the REF.TEMP button again,
you will change the temperature setting of
the fridge and thus turn off ‘Vacation mode’.
• Press the (16) FRZ.TEMP. button once.
The (17) temperature signal will flash.
If you press the FRZ.TEMP button again,
you will change the temperature setting
of the freezer and thus turn off ‘Vacation
mode’.
Door alarm
The use of energy and the temperature inside
the appliance can increase if the doors are
opened often or for long periods of time.
To avoid an excessive loss of cooling, a tone
will sound when one or both doors of the
fridge-freezer have been open for more than
2 minutes.
• Close the open door(s).
