4. Hold the jug lid (9) by the pour-
ing button (10).
5. Loosen the jug lid (9) from the
jug (8) by rotating it a quarter
turn.
6. Clean the jug (8) and the jug
lid (9) with water.
7. Dry all parts carefully.
Full empty cycle
• Before first use, after descaling
and if you have not used the
appliance for a prolonged pe-
riod of time, fill the water tank
completely (without coffee) and
allow machine to run through
1–2 times and then tip the wa-
ter away.
CAUTION
Risk of scalding!
When the coffee machine is
in use, hot steam will come
out of it which will lead to
scalding if it comes into con-
tact with unprotected skin.

Do not leave the lid open
during operation.
■
Do not touch the lid or
reach just above it during
operation.
■
Avoid all contact with hot
liquid.
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
The heating element surface
becomes very hot during op-
eration and can cause burns
if touched. The heating ele-
ment surface is subject to re-
sidual heat after use.
■
Only hold the jug by the
handle.
■
Do not touch the hotplate
when it is hot.
■
Do not place any objects on
the hotplate except the jug.
