Preparation
Full empty cycle
• Before first use, after descaling and if you
have not used the appliance for a prolon-
ged period of time, fill the water tank com-
pletely (without coffee) and allow machine
to run through 1–2 times and then tip the
water away.
CAUTION
Risk of scalding!
When the coffee machine is in use, hot
steam will come out of it which will lead
to scalding if it comes into contact with
unprotected skin.

Do not leave the lid open during ope-
ration.
■
Do not touch the lid or reach just abo-
ve it during operation.
■
Avoid all contact with hot liquid.
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
The heating element surface becomes
very hot during operation and can cau-
se burns if touched. The heating ele-
ment is subject to residual heat after
use.
■
Only hold the jug by the handle.
■
Do not touch the hotplate when it is
hot.
■
Do not place any objects on the hot-
plate except the jug.
You will find this symbol on the hot-
plate. It warns of a hot surface.

1. Open the water tank lid (1).
2. Fill the jug (4) with fresh, cold tap water.
3. Pour the water out of the jug (4) into the
water tank (9) up to the

mark on the
water level indicator (8).
4. Insert the filter basket (2) into the applian-
ce.

5. Place the jug (4) on the hotplate (5) so that
the jug lid (3) pushes the drip guard (11) on
the filter basket (2) upwards.
