– The safest way to check if the roast is
cooked is to use a meat thermometer. By
sticking it into the thickest part, the core
temperature of the roast will be displayed.
– Allow meat to stand for around 10 minutes
after the cooking time has elapsed. The
juices can then distribute more evenly and
do not run when cutting.
– Cook fish in a heatproof dish if possible on
the oven rack on the middle or lower level.
Our energy-saving tips
– Do not pre-heat the oven (except for very
lean meat such as fillets, roast beef, etc.).
– If the cooking time is not longer than
40 minutes, switch off the oven 10 minutes
before the cooking time elapses and use
the remaining heat.
– Cook roasts that weigh less than a kilo-
gram on the hob.
1. Place the roast on the oven rack (very
fatty meat) or on the dripping pan (lean
meat) and slide it into the oven.
The roast should be in the middle of the
oven.
2. If you are using the oven rack, make sure
to place the dripping pan underneath.

The ECO mode
ECO For energy-efficient baking.
When ECO mode is activated, the heating
element is electronically controlled to make
better use of residual heat and therefore re-
duce energy consumption. Using ECO mode
will slightly extend the cooking time.
ECO mode is especially suited for cooking
meat: cooking using this mode will result in
juicier meat.
Grill
CAUTION!
Fire hazard!
The back wall inside the oven gets very
hot.
■
Do not place food to be grilled too far
back towards the heating element.
When grilling, meat, poultry and fish brown
quickly, become crispy and do not dry out.
The crust is easy to digest and is also suitable
for bland diets.
Flat pieces of meat and fish, skewers, sau-
sages and watery vegetables (such as to-
matoes and onions) are particularly good for
grilling.
When grilling, you can choose between grill-
ing, intensive and convection grilling.
