Changeover Valve for Type KSV/ÜSV and HD-KSV/HD-ÜSV
Changeover valves should be stored in a closed room and be protected against the damaging
effects of dirt, moisture, etc.
In particular, the ends of the changeover valve at the pipe connection must not be damaged
by mechanical or other influences.
Remove the protective caps of the changeover valve immediately before installation only.
4 Installation in the piping
4.1
General
The same instructions apply to the installation of changeover valves in a pipe as to the connecting
pipes and similar piping components. The following
additional
instructions apply to changeover
valves. Clause 3 (above) must also be observed for transportation to the place of installation.
No changeover valve may be used when its permissible pressure / temperature range is
not sufficient for the operating conditions.
Failure to observe this warning may result in damage to the valve and, in turn,
put the user at risk.
The safety and overflow valves to be connected must be protected from soiling. This
is why you have to ensure that the pipe cross-sections of the changeover valve, the
safety valve and the overflow valves and the screw connections used are
free from any
contamination
before installation.
Failure to observe this warning may result in damage to the changeover valve and
to the mounted parts and, in turn, put the user at risk.
If only the inlet / outlet of the shuttle valve is occupied by a safety valve or overflow
valve, the free connection must be closed with a stopper.
4.2
Working steps
The changeover valve will be supplied in a protective packaging. Unpack it immediately
before installation only.
Inspect the changeover valves for transport damage. Damaged valves must not be installed.
Ensure that only changeover valves are installed the permitted operating pressure of which
comply with the conditions of use. See corresponding label on the changeover valve.
The connection ends of the pipe and of the safety / overflow valves must match the
connections of the changeover valve.
Before installation, all the parts of the connecting pipe must be cleaned from any dirt with
utmost care - refer to warning note above.
The changeover valve can be installed in any fitting position.
Ensure that all the screw connections to the pipe and to the safety / overflow vavles are
securely tightened to form a seal in order to prevent any medium from escaping sub-
sequently. The following tightening torques are recommended:

If required, the cap can be lead sealed in order to ensure that the changeover valve will not
be actuated without authorisation.
5 Pressure test of the pipe section
The change over valves have already been pressure-tested by the manufacturer. Observe the following
instructions when pressure-testing a pipe section with changeover valve installed:
Test pressure must not exceed 50 bar or 130 bar.
