A. Features of Mazda S/W
1. Communicatio n Start-up
a Mazda has no ID check system like Honda or Mi tsubishi.
Since the comm uni cation protocol is qui te simple with few vari ations,
com pli cated menu sel ecting procedure as Toyota is not necessary, ei ther.
b The user is sim pl y requi red to check the adapter type of the vehicle and
to select the adapter and the desi red system to test.
2. Performance
a Mazda has three different communicati on methods: Pulse si gnal type for
old cars, Mazda MOBD and Generi c OBD2 of SAE J1850 type, and uses
three types of di agnosti c adapter: 6-pi n Mazda/Ki a adapter, 17-pi n
Mazda adapter and OBD2 16-pi n adapter.
