In the control software of Hamamatsu, sweep range may be displayed as blanking with
horizontal plug-in.
10-2 MCP GAIN
The electron gain, or image intensity, is directly proportional to the applied voltage to the
MCP. The MCP GAIN can be adjusted in 64 steps, ranging from 0 (minimum) to 63
(maximum). If the MCP GAIN is set to 0, a voltage of 400 V is applied. And when the
setting is 63, the applied voltage is 900 V. Between 0 and 63, the voltage is applied in
linear steps, although the actual gain is exponential. Refer to the TEST REPORT
documentation supplied with your streak camera for the actual measured gain value vs.
voltage setting.
Please note – depending on the Gate Mode settings and if protection function has been
activated, there may be times when this voltage is not applied.
