Chapter 5 Software Maintenance

Step 1: Enter the boot menu (refer to section 5.1 “Boot Menu”),

and enter

to enter the Boot ROM submenu.

Bootrom Download Menu:

1: Download Bootrom with XModem

2: Download Extended Segment of Bootrom with XModem

3: Restore Extended Segment of Bootrom from FLASH

4: Backup Extended Segment of Bootrom to FLASH

5: Exit to Main Menu

Enter your choice(1-5):

Step 2: Enter

1

to download the Boot ROM program through

XModem. The VG 31-08 provides several speed options. The

subsequent operation steps are the same as those described in

section 5.2.1 “Upgrading the Application Program”.

Caution:

You cannot restore the Boot ROM program on site if you fail to

upgrade the full Boot ROM program. Therefore, you are

recommended not to upgrade the full Boot ROM program unless

necessary and under the direction of technical support engineers.
