III. Checking/Operating after power-up
After powering up the firewall, check that:
z
The ventilation system is operating well.
After powering up the firewall, you can hear the sound of the fan blade spinning and feel
the airflow when you put your hands close to the air vents.
z
The LEDs on the front panel of the chassis are in normal state.
See the section 1.2.3 “LEDs” for more information on LED state.
z
The console terminal display is correct.
After powering up the firewall, you can see the startup interface on the console terminal
(see the section “4.1.3 Booting Process”). After the system passes Power-On Self-Test
(POST), press <Enter> as prompted. When “<H3C>” is displayed, you can proceed to
configure the firewall.
4.1.3 Booting Process
After being powered up, the firewall first runs the Boot ROM program. The terminal
screen displays the following system information:

The message displayed on the terminal may vary with Boot ROM versions.
