Sensor Positions
A sensor is displayed as a green circular symbol with a red triangle which represents the direction the sensor is
pointing and the size of the beam width (defined by the Field of View setting on the Sensors Screen). Each
symbol can be dragged into the required position using the mouse and then rotated using the circular arrow
symbol at the end of the triangle.
Sensor Position Tables
When a sensor symbol is dragged across the display, its coordinates are updated in the corresponding table to
the right of the display. Alternatively, the table can be edited directly. This is a useful way to make fine
adjustments, enabling the commissioning engineer to accurately position the sensor on the vessel display and
ensure angular alignment.
The
X Offset, Y Offset and Angle
parameters are for display purposes only.
The
Range Offset
is a value that is
added
to the range measured by the sensor. This offset is used to facilitate
the positioning of the sensor within the profile of the vessel and offset the range measured to report the range
from the detected object to the closest part of the vessel. A negative number reduces all sensor measured
values.
Example: A sensor is used to monitor the clearance of the vessel stern and the sensor is mounted 2m inside
the profile of the vessel. To display the distance between any object and the stern of the vessel the Range offset
would be -2.0m.
