Operation
Battery Alarm Signal
•
As soon as supply voltage of the battery drops under
10,5 V, the alarm signal sounds.
•
Disconnect all appliances from the Voltage Changer.
•
Disonnect the Voltage Changer from the battery.
•
Battery shall be immediately charged so that the
damage on battery may be prevented.
•
The Voltage Changer will disconnect all appliances from
the battery beginning with the value of 10 V, for
prevention of excessive discharge of the battery.
•
Should the alarm signal sound although the voltage is
sufficient, there si another problem. In this case refer to
Chapter “Repair of Defects”“
•
Instruction: A
short alarm signal may sound during the
connecting the Voltage Changer with terminals and its
disconnecting. It is a common feature
and it does not
indicate a problem on the device or any failure..
Service Life
•
Usually one charging of the battery that is in good
condition is sufficient for 1 to 2 hours of operation. The
duration depends particularly on the connected
appliances.
•
In order to prevent too high decrease of the battery
voltage, start the vehicle engine after an hour and
disconnect all appliances (light, ventilation, radio etc.)
Protective Mechanisms
The Voltage Changer supervises continuously a few
parameters of power supply and current consumption.
Autorestart Function
The device automatically switches the device on after it has
been repaired (switching of the protection). The fuse need not
be replaced.
Low Voltage
Should the Changer alarm signal sound reporting the low
voltage (from 10,5 V), it is not dangerous for the Changer.
The alarm signal serves for signalization of decrease of
supplying battery voltage. As soon as the voltage drops under
10 V, the device will disconnect the appliances.
Shortcut
By shortcut supervision can be checked if the connecting
cables have not reversal polarity or if there is a shortcut in the
system. Should this protection respond, disconnect the
appliances from the Changer and check all supply lines of the
Changer.
Overheating
As soon as tempereture of internal cooling bodies exceeds
65 °C, the protection relais of the Changer will disconnect
appliances, so that the device may be cooled. After the
Changer has been cooled, it is automatically reswitched. No
intervention of user is needed. Check if the appliances do not
consume too much current, disconnect them if necessary.
Overloading
The Voltage Changer will automatically switch off if the
appliances consume more permanent and/or closing current
than the values the device is designed for (see the Cahpter
“Technical data”). Disconnect large appliances. The device
will automatically switch on as soon as the loading fluctuates
within normal range.
Failures-Causes-Repairs
CAUTION: FIRST CHECK PROTECTION MECHANISMS !
Before all works on the device pull out the plug from the
network..
•
The plastic parts are cleaned with a wet cloth. Do not
use any detergents, solvents or pointed things.
Safety Instructions for Inspection and Maintenance
Only the device on which regular maintenance is performed
and which is well cared for will be helpful. Failures in the
maintenance and care may cause unpredictable accidents
and injuries..
