Qualification
Except for thorough training by an expert for use of the
device, no special qualification is required.
Minimum age
The device may be operated by persons over 16 years of
age. An exception is use by younger person if the use
takes place under supervision of an adult trainer in the
course of education.
Training
Use of the device requires corresponding guidance by an
expert or operation manual only. No special training is
required.
Transport and storing
The appliance must be cleaned thoroughly and kept
out of reach of unauthorised persons before being
stored for a long time.
Before storing the appliance, check whether all nuts,
bolts and pins are tightened.
Let the engine cool down every time the appliance is
to be stored for a long time.
Never store the crawler transporter with fuel inside as
this could cause fire.
The appliance must always be stored on a level and
stable surface.
Operation
After reading and understanding the
general safety
instructions
and
safety instructions before putting the
appliance into operation for the first time
, the crawler
transporter may be put into operation. In doing so, please
proceed as follows:
Starting:
Check the petrol and engine oil before starting the
appliance.
Turn the key to the right to the ON position (pic. 1).
Use the choke and open the fuel tap.
Use the reversing starter to start the engine.
Slowly close the choke (see the attached B&S
manual).
Forward speed:
Press the direction lever to the F position (pic. 3).
Turn the gas lever in a counter clockwise direction,
the crawler transporter is now moving forward and will
stop after the handle is released.
Reverse speed:
Press the direction lever to the R position (pic. 3).
Turn the gas lever in a counter clockwise direction,
the crawler transporter is now reversing and will stop
after the handle is released.
Caution! Watch out for obstructions on the
ground.
Control system:
The appliance is controlled by one of the two direction
levers. When operating the left lever, the left caterpillar
stops and the appliance turns left. The contrary is the case
for the right lever.
To stop the appliance on slopes, use both direction
levers and press down the safety pin (pic 2/2) on
each side. The safety lever (pic. 2/3) will snap in.
To release the parking brake, use the direction lever
and press the safety lever at the same time. The
safety pin will get released.
Body tipping:
Caution! Put the direction lever to the "N"
position, otherwise the appliance will not start moving!
Put the left lever to the Tip symbol and give full
throttle using the gas lever on the right handle.
Put the left lever to the Transport symbol and give full
throttle.
Switching the appliance off:
After finishing your work, park the crawler transporter
on a level and stable surface and apply the
handbrake.
Turn the key to the OFF position (pic. 1).
Pull the key out.
Close the fuel tap.
Inspections and servicing
Lubricate all moving parts, bolts and nuts with grease at
regular intervals.
Caterpillar (pic. 4):
Check and set regularly the caterpillar tension. The
rubber caterpillar may only give way to 1 cm after
being pressed.
If the caterpillar is too loose, it may bend the front
axis and permanently damage the appliance.
To tighten the caterpillar, use the tension bolt (pic.
4/A).
Transmission plate (pic. 6) removing:
The body must be tipped.
Proceed as shown in pic. 6 and remove all bolts, first
from the body and then the plate.
Chain lubrication (pic. 7):
At regular intervals, lubricate the transmission chain
with chain oil or liquid fat for high temperatures.
Transmission oil change (pic. 8+10):
Remove the upper bolt and the bottom bolt. Do not
forget to use a catch container.
Spindle (pic. 9):
Remove carefully the rubber protection clip, pull it up
and lubricate the shaft with liquid fat for high
temperatures.
Drive/spindle carrier (pic. 11):
To be lubricated at regular intervals with liquid fat for
high temperatures using a fat press.
Engine:
See the attached B&S manual.
Direction lever:
There is a small brake fluid tank (pic. 2/1)
on each direction lever. The level must be at least 3/4th of
the peep hole.
DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid to be used only.
Servicing plan
Before putting the appliance into operation:
Check the engine oil level.
Clean or replace the air filter.
Check the brake fluid level.
Every 20 hours of operation:
Lubricate the chains, spindles and carriers
Check the caterpillar tension and tighten it if
necessary.
Check the parking brake function.
Every 300 hours of operation or once a year:
Change the transmission oil
Check the brake fluid
Clean completely the chains and lubricate them.
