Programme types (PTY)
Many FM stations provide the Programme Type (PTY) service.
During a news programme, for example, a station may broadcasts
the NEWS identification code. The PTY function enables you to
automatically tune to stations broadcasting a particular type of
programme, for example POP. The programme type information
broadcast by a station can change according to the current
programme.
