Connecting the y-cable
Viewed from the cable side of the plug/socket, the crimp connection resembles the letter “B“.
On the plug to the radio, the catch is on that side corresponding with the straight part of the letter
“B“.
On the plug to the vehicle, the catch is on that side corresponding with the round part of the letter
“B“.
If you press the bent-open end of a paper clip from the
front of the plug
into the free space next
to the spring or contact, the lead can be pulled out again.
After having disengaged the contacts, the springs must be slightly bent back to ensure a safe
engagement when plugging the contacts in again.
