SAFETY NOTICE:
General safety instructions for all power tools
You should read all the instructions and safety provisions. Errors in observation of the following pro‑
visions may result in electric shock, fire and/or severe injuries. Keep all the instructions and provisions
safe for future reference. The term “power tool” in the following document refers to both power tools
powered with electricity from the mains power source (with the power cord) and the battery‑powered
tools (without the power cord).
1. Safety at the workplace
a.
Keep your workplace clean and well‑lit. An untidy or not sufficiently lit working space can lead
to accidents.
b.
Do not use the power tool in potentially explosive environments, at locations which highly
flammable liquids, gases or dusts are stored. Power tools create sparks which may cause igni‑
tion.
The tool is not suitable for use in explosive atmosphere!
c.
Make sure that children and uninvolved persons are away from the work area. Distractions can
lead to loss of control of the tool.
2. Electrical safety
a.
The plug of the power tool must fit in the socket. Do not alter the plug in any way. Do not
use adapter plugs while using power tools with protective earthing (PE). Unaltered plugs
and matching sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.
b.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and re‑
frigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
c.
Do not expose this tool to rain or moisture. Any ingress of water
increases the risk of electric shock.
d.
Never use the cord for unintended purposes. Do not carry the power tool by holding the cord,
nor use it as a suspension. Do not remove the plug by pulling the cord. Keep the cord away
from high temperatures, oil, sharp edges or moving parts of the tool. Damaged or tangled
cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e.
In case of outdoor use of the power tool, use an extension cable for outdoor use. The use
of a proper extension cable (for outdoor use) reduces the risk of electric shock.
f.
If the use of power tool in humid environment cannot be avoided, use an earth‑leakage circuit
breaker. The use of an earth‑leakage circuit breaker reduces the risk of electric shock
3. Individual safety
a.
The power tool must be used with caution, each action should be carried out carefully and with
consideration. Do not use the power tool when tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs
or medication. A distraction can lead to severe injuries.
b.
Always wear personal protective equipment and protective glasses. The use of personal pro‑
tective equipment – a dust mask, anti‑slip footwear, safety helmet and hearing protectors (de‑
pending on the type and application of the power tool) – reduces the risk of injuries.
c.
Avoid unintentional start‑ups of the tool. Make sure that the tool is switched off before plug‑
ging the cord in the socket and/or plugging it to the battery, as well as before lifting and mov‑
ing the power tool. Holding a finger on the power switch during the handling or connecting
to the power source can lead to accidents.
d.
Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. Adjusting keys or
wrenches in the moving parts of the tool can lead to injuries.
e.
Avoid unnatural positions while working. Make sure that you keep your balance and your position
is stable. It will enable you to have better control over the power tool in unexpected situations.
f.
Wear appropriate clothes. Do not wear loose clothes or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothes
and gloves away from the moving parts. Hair, clothes and gloves can be caught in the moving
parts.
