Remove PTO Belt

1. Remove transmission belt. See

Transmission Belt

 on page 30.

2. Release tension from idler pulley.
3. Remove PTO mower belt from clutch and 

then from jackshaft.

Install PTO Belt

1. Install PTO belt on clutch and then on 

jackshaft. See Figure 36.

IMPORTANT: 

Ensure that correct sheave is 

used based on deck height setup:
See Figure 35.
• Low (38 mm – 102 mm or 1.5" – 4") 

position: Use top sheave.

• High (64 mm – 127 mm or 2.5" – 5") 

position: Use middle sheave.

2. Reinstall transmission belt. See 

Install 

Transmission Belt

 on page 30.

3. Verify that there are no twists in belts and 

that they are routed correctly.

4. Replace belt guards and close belt 

access panel.

CAUTION: 

Use care when 

releasing idler spring tension. 

Keep body parts well away 

from idlers when performing 

this operation.
