1. Remove packaging and unit from
container.
2. Open bypass valves. See Move Unit
Manually on page 18.
3. Push unit onto a level surface.
4. Close bypass valves.
5. Check tire pressures. See
Check Tire
Pressure on page 22 and Specifications
on page 36.
6. Clip cable tie and remove wrap from
steering levers.
7. Check steering lever positions. See
Adjust Steering Levers on page 27.
8. Check battery and charge if needed. See
Charge Battery on page 24.
9. Check engine oil level and add if needed.
Refer to the engine manual.
10. Check hydraulic fluid level and add if
needed. See Check Hydraulic Oil Level
on page 20.
11. Fill fuel tank with clean, fresh fuel.
IMPORTANT: See engine manual for fuel
type.
12. Inspect all hardware and tighten if loose.
13. Check safety interlock system functions.

page 20.
14. Lubricate all fittings. See Maintenance
Schedule on page 20.
15. Place the discharge chute in the
operating position.
CAUTION: Avoid Injury! Do not operate unit
with discharge chute in operating position.
16. Check that mower deck is level per
factory standards. See Level And Pitch
Mower Deck on page 31.
17. Check all control functions and ensure
unit operates properly. See Controls And
Features on page 12.
