Types of rechargeable batteries:
6 V and 12 V lead acid batteries with a capaci-
ty of 4 – 40 Ah. These gastight sealed batteries
have proven their worth for RC operation. They
are mechanical robust and position independent.
The battery label usually allows to draw a conclu-
sion about its capacity:
Example: Graupner lead acid battery 6 V/ 4 Ah:
voltage 6 V, capacity 4 Ah
Charging batteries:
The charger automatically detects the voltage of
the battery, and charges the pack according to
the constant current / constant voltage principle.
Operation
1. Connect the charger to an easily accessible
mains power socket (120-240V~, 50/60 Hz).
The red LED flashes once to confirm that
the charger is ready for use.
2. Connect the lead battery which is to be
charged to the attachment plugs of the char-
ging cable. Make absolutely sure that the po-
larity of the battery and the polarity of the
charging cable match.
• RED to positive pole (+)
• BLACK to negative pole
The red LED lights up to indicate that
charging is in progress.
3. The LED glows green when the lead-acid
battery is fully charged. Disconnect the bat-
tery from the charge lead, and disconnect
the charger from the mains socket.
Additional information:
If the green control lamp does not switch on
after connecting the battery to the charger and
the charger to the socket, you should immedi-
ately disconnect the charger from the socket in
order to avoid an overstrain or any damage to
the charger.
Possible error causes:
• Incorrect polarity of the battery connector,
the battery charge lead or the battery, or
short-circuit at the output.
The red LED flashes to indicate any of these
faults.
• Battery defective, intermittent contact, inter-
ruption, etc.
• Mains socket without current or defective.
• Charger defective. In this case, please con-
tact the GRAUPNER service department.
