11 TROUBLE-SHOOTING GUIDE
problem cause solution
Moving lever toward, the by-pass valve
of the pump is operating, but the upper
part of the crimper does not descend or
descends with a jerky motion.
1. Oil reservoir of the pump too low.
2. Leaks from hydraulic connections.
3. Air in the hydraulic circuit.
4. Low air pressure or inadequate air
source.
5. Pump failure.
1. Fill oil in the pump reservoir.
2. Check connections, in case repair
leaks.
3. Remove the air by running the tool
through several complete cycles.
4. Check min values, 500 kPa and 250
lt/m of supply.
5. Do not attempt any repairs on
the tool! Call the Distributor !
When crimping the fitting, the by-pass
valve of the pump is operating, but the
desired crimping diameter has not yet
been reached.
1. The metal of the fitting ferrule is too
hard or it is thicker than normal.
2. Die size too small.
1. Use a different type of fitting or
contact the Distributor.
2. Replace the dies with the correct
size.
The crimper closes normally and the by-
pass valve of the pump works, but the
crimping diameter obtained is too wide.
1. Die size too large.
2. Desired crimping diameter smaller
than the nominal diameter of the
dies fitted.
1. Replace the dies with the correct
size.
2. Try fitting a smaller size of dies.
The linear crimping of the fitting has an
irregular shape. 1. Incorrect placement of the dies in
the crimper.
2. The lateral plastic flanges of the
upper and lower bodies of the
crimper do not correspond.
1. Check and change the placement of
the dies.
2. Rotate the upper part of the crimper
180°.
