7.3 FITTING THE DIES
This operation is carried out after the two bodies of the crimper have been separated.
After checking the marking on the back that their code is the same for all 8 elements , take the dies with two fingers
and fit the single dies in the respective guides of the crimper bodies according to the alternating order ( I-II ) impressed both on
the dies and on one side of the plastic flanges ( A ); the magnets housed under the sliding plates will hold them in position.
To remove the dies, remove the upper body, take their ends with two fingers and pull outward to override the magnetic
attraction exercised by the magnets fitted under the sliding plates. This should be done in sequence always starting from one of
the side die.
RE-FIT THE UPPER BODY, PAYING ATTENTION THAT THE SYMBOLS (I–II) IMPRESSED ON THE
GUIDES OF THE DIES AND ON THE SIDE PLATES ARE ALL ON THE SAME SIDE. THE DIES SHOULD BE
ARRANGED IN ALTERNATING MODE (I-II) AND FORM A REGULAR CIRCLE.
After mounting the dies and before to proceed in the crimping operation, close gradually the crimper without exceeding the
pressure, making sure that their closure is properly and according to the recommendations above.
During maintenance, clean and lubricate the parts of dies subject to slide under load ( B - C ) using a teflon grease or lithium
for high performance . Applies the same grease to the die castle ( D ) and sliding plates ( E ).
