Pipeline Gas Test
The pipeline gas test is used to discriminate between pipeline gas (natural gas) and non pipeline
gas (e.g. landfi ll or swamp gas).

The pipeline gas test, when confi gured, can run in the background of ALL modes of
operation, except for CSM.
When sample testing, the GS700 discriminates the gas and displays the results as:
NOT Pipeline Gas!
• Non Pipeline gas identifi ed
• Red visual top plate LED’s activated
Pipeline Gas
• Pipeline gas identifi ed
The live result will be displayed until the gas reading drops below the decision point (approximately
1.5% GAS).

The GS700 can be confi gured to display only the ‘NOT Pipeline Gas!’ results.
